I’ve learned over the years is that the relationship between a child and therapist significantly impacts the level of success, regardless of the disorder or severity. For that reason, I strive to make research-driven, evidenced-based therapies enjoyable and fun. I find great personal reward in helping children overcome obstacles, and watching them light up when they are successful. I am also deeply invested in working closely with the families of my clients, because I understand those relationships are as just as important, and directly influence long term success.
My background in social work and speech pathology gives me a clear perspective on how concerns about the child’s development can impact the entire family. I appreciate that for every child coming into my office—regardless of the treatment area—their needs and successes impact everyone around them. While I’m charged with understanding the science and knowing the “how to” of your child’s treatment, your child’s job is to put forth his or her best effort, and your responsibility, as a parent, is to carry-over and manage home assignments for the best possible outcome. I firmly believe therapists and families are a team. With that in mind, I will support you as a parent and partner in your child’s journey, as well as ask for your support in treating your child.
My passion is to help children communicate to their highest potential. I have worked in pediatrics since 2000, addressing various aspects of speech, language, cognitive and social skills. I founded Inspiring Communication thru Adaptation & Nurturing, PLLC known as “iCan” to fully support that vision. Children learn through play and will work harder for someone they know truly cares about them. iCan is a place where families can feel supported in their journey in helping their child. As a team, together, we can help your child reach their greatest potential! For I believe, it is a very powerful thing when a child realizes “iCan” appropriately communicate and impact my world!
