I have worked in pediatrics addressing various aspects of speech, language, feeding, cognitive skills and social skills since 2000. My passion and greatest experience is with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and autism; though I serve children with a vast array of disorders/diagnoses, listed under services. I am committed to help and if I do not know, I will seek out information or other professionals that may assist us. This has resulted in three ACE awards from ASHA (American Speech-Language and Hearing Association), recognition from Apraxia Kids for Advanced Training and Clinical Expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and the role as Volunteer Co-Coordinator for the Houston Walk for Apraxia.

My background in social work and speech pathology gives me a clear perspective on how concerns about the child’s development can impact the entire family. I appreciate that for every child coming into my office—regardless of the treatment area—their needs and successes impact everyone around them. While I’m charged with understanding the science and knowing the “how to” of your child’s treatment, your child’s job is to put forth his or her best effort, and your responsibility, as a parent, is to carry-over and manage home assignments for the best possible outcome. I firmly believe therapists and families are a team.
